Terere Kids Project has been offering free BJJ classes in the Cantagalo favela for 24 years. There have been many ups and downs, but, through the years, the community came together to make sure the program succeeded. In addition to BJJ, the project also offers English classes, competition training, and physical fitness classes for the community.

Their objective is to give kids a safe place away from the many distractions that could lead them down the wrong path. Our instructors work hard to create a safe space that promotes education and in forming good citizens.

Terere Kids Project | Brazilian Nationals

IBJJ Kids Brazilian Nationals will take place on May 14 and 15th in São Paulo. For the first time since the pandemic, the kids’ squad is gearing up to compete in Brazil’s biggest and most important children’s championship.

So far, they’ve raised the money to register 17 kids who will travel alongside Professor Vinicius and Professor Fabricio.

With a little over a month left til the competition, the team is still working to raise the last $400 they need to cover food expenses.
